Artist's Comments

Lil-Artizt has been asking if I would do a drawing of one of DC's most memorable - and sexy - femme fatales. So here she is, my second version of Poison Ivy. The first is accessible here [link] . Anyway, I'm qute happy with how this turned out. I worked really hard on rendering the individual leaves, which was quite a challenge. Hope it turned out okay!

Much much better indeed. You still have room for improvement, as one always does but this is quite a step forward regarding your other drawings.

The colouring is still a bit dull but I'm a bit of a noob with coloured pencils so I know how hard it can be to do it right XD so much I've only done one piece with them :X

All in all, great job.

I love the detail on the plants over her body, the pose is amazing, her face is really intense. You mentioned me in your artist's comments. Sweet. :lol:

Wow, I'm pretty suprised how well this turned out. The porportion and shape is all very accurate from what i can tell. (Though it seems you did something I did by cheating and hiding something that is harder to draw, like the hands ; ) I do that all the time with hands and lower legs.)

Thank you so much! Of course I've much work to do. Well, making colour pencils look smooth and polished is no mean feat, but I think I have almost perfected my skin tone colouring. Once again, thanks!!

Yeah, those leaves really sapped the juice outta me! You were the one who suggested I do another Ivy drawing, so you deserve the kudos. The pose is a classic pin-up style one that is instantly recognisable, so I chose it. Thanks so much for the fave!! Means a lot.

Thank you sir! Well, we all have trouble drawing hands, but as I mentioned in my reply to Lil Artizt it's part of the classic pose. But I will admit I'd rather hide the hands on most of my drawings!

Oh no problem at all. It is a great piece and great art deserves favorites and such. Leaves are very very difficult to draw, especially if they are small, because they have detailed shading, along with line veins, and more. I have drawn a lot of bird pictures with flowers in the background, and of course, if you have a flower, you gotta have leaves. lol.
